What to include (in this order)

    Header

    Full name, phone, professional email, city, and LinkedIn/GitHub if you have them. Skip date of birth, religion and a photo unless the employer asks.

    Career objective / summary

    Two lines: who you are, what role you want, and one strength. Tailor it to each job.

    Education

    Degree, college, year and CGPA/percentage. Add Class 12 and Class 10 only if they are strong or the employer asks.

    Your strongest section. For each project: what you built, the tools you used, and a result (users, accuracy, time saved).

    Internships & training

    Company, role, dates, and 2–3 bullets on what you delivered.

    Skills

    Hard skills relevant to the job first (tools, languages, software), then a few soft skills.

    Certifications & achievements

    Courses, hackathons, competitions, NSS/NCC, college roles — keep only what is relevant.

Tips that make a difference

  • Keep it to one page. Recruiters spend seconds on a first scan.
  • Start bullets with action verbs: built, led, designed, analysed, improved.
  • Add numbers wherever you honestly can: team size, users, marks, time saved.
  • Use a single-column layout for companies that use ATS screening.
  • Save and send as PDF, named like Firstname-Lastname-Resume.pdf.
